You can now enjoy the music from the tour of the Iljan pruazniekka album, released on 9.5., at the Parppeinpirtti in Ilomantsi, in the Vaara landscape. Il’lan pruazniekka (Finnish: Iljan praasniekka) is Loimolan Voima's third album and it is a tribute to the Karelian praasniekka tradition.
Loimolan Voima has been making new music in the Karelian language since 2018. The more than 120 gigs they have played have not only made the band known, but also increased awareness of the existence of the indigenous Karelian language in Finland. For many listeners, Loimolan Voimanmusiikki has been an incentive to speak the language and master it.
The Travel Song, released on Blahošen'na Day 25.3.26, tells the story of Loimolan Voiman. The band has a wide audience and has been embraced by children, young people, adults and the elderly. The song involves traveling to a gig, which for the duo is a joint celebration between the band and the audience - or pruazniekka, as it is expressed in Karelian.
In the heart of a summer evening, we will meet again at the Parppeinvaara poetry village in Ilomantsi, surrounded by dance, music and Karelian togetherness!
BES'S'ODOISSA The rhythm of the dances and the light of the summer evening transport us to the middle of a living tradition – joyfully, together and without performing.
This year, the music for the bes's'odat dances will be provided by master accordionist Marko Kotilainen (Golden Accordion 2011) and internationally renowned flutist Robert Tobin, who will create a lively and rich soundscape for the evening.
After the bes's'odat, we will move on to the Parppeinpirtti ILLAČUI, where the atmosphere will be heightened by the North Karelian-based, highly popular Loimolan Voima. We promise a strong and engaging Karelian music evening, where tradition breathes modernity.
Bring out your Karelian tradition – dress for a summer evening!
We invite everyone to join us in celebrating the summer evening by dressing up. You can arrive in a feres, a Karelian shirt, parts of a traditional costume, traditional footwear or a modern Karelian touch – or just in a summer outfit that you feel comfortable in and celebrate in. The most important thing is to be involved. Together we will create a cozy evening where everyone's style is part of the whole.
18.00–19.30 BES'S'ODAT
