A Culinary Journey to the Flavours of Saimaa – September 12–14, 2025. Experiences, encounters, and local delicacies

Join us for Saimaan Satojuhlat – the Saimaa Harvest Festival – and embark on a journey into the tastes, stories, and atmosphere of autumn! At the heart of the celebration are local ingredients, small producers, and the joy of the harvest season.

Over the course of three days, Savonlinna, Kitee, and the surrounding areas come alive with events, flavours, and authentic encounters. Delicacies like vendace from Lake Puruvesi, forest mushrooms, traditional Karelian dishes, and Saimaa’s fresh fish are served in charming courtyards and cosy restaurants.

Visit sheep farms, join guided farm tours, explore the history of old manors, enjoy live demonstrations, or simply stop for a coffee and soak in the peaceful countryside. During the festival, local restaurants offer special harvest menus and dishes crafted just for the occasion – with at least 50% of the ingredients sourced from the nearby region.

Saimaan Satojuhlat is a celebration for the whole family, combining food culture, rural tranquility, and the joy of togetherness. Welcome aboard!
