In the local ice lake phase following the Baltic ice lake, around 11,590-11,400 years ago, both the Myllylampi area and the nearby Lavikanlahti acted as discharge channels for the ice lakes. The Myllylampi-Kärenlampi channel was next active during the Greater Saimaa stage.
