Local food market in Sulkava

The Sulkava Rowing Race weekend is also a celebration of local food. At the local food market, you’ll find fresh berries, new potatoes, seasonal vegetables, organic garlic, honey, jams, and delicious vendace products from the region’s lakes.

In addition to fresh produce, the market offers traditional Finnish specialties such as savoury fish pastries, root vegetable pies, and handmade kukko pies filled with vendace or rutabaga.

Stop by the market to fill your shopping bag or picnic basket with authentic flavours from local farms and food artisans.

Vendors include:

• Tmi Juvan Hapankaali – Sauerkraut and pickled cucumber products. Also featuring fish preserves from Järvi-Suomen Kalatuote.
• Jennin ja Ollin Herkut – Vendace and rutabaga kukko pies, as well as savoury supikkaat (filled pastries).
• Asko Hirvonen – Smoked vendace and baked goods.
• Luomutila Toivola – Organic strawberries, organic garlic, honey, and processed goods.
• Uusi-Salmela – Potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
• Marjatila Lohilahti – Strawberries and possibly other berries.
• Tmi Jari Rantala – Strawberries, raspberries, and seasonal berries.
