Renaissance Ball

Come experience a unique Renaissance experience at Olavinlinna Castle!

You will be able to hear, see and experience an unforgettable evening of historical dances. The dances are provided by the Joensuu Academic & Historic Dance Society and the music by the Savonlinna Quartet.

The music is original dance tunes from the 15th and 16th centuries performed by the Savonlinna Quartet, to which the dancers will perform Renaissance dances. You can watch the dances in the audience, just like old dances by high school students. It is also possible to join in the dances yourself, supported by a weekend course in historical dances organized by the Savonlinnan Kansanopisto

Arriving at the castle from 2 pm, the first dances will start at 2:30 pm. The event ends at 6 pm. The entrance ticket includes dinner. When purchasing a ticket, you will choose a main course and indicate any other special diets.​
