Paajasen laidunliha (Paajanen's pasture-raised beef) is a joint brand of Notkola farm and Pekosenmäki farm, both located in Kirjavala, Parikkala. The rocky fields of the farms are well-suited for grazing, and the Highland cattle breed is excellently suited for landscape and meadow pastures. Paajasen laidunliha wants to maintain rural and traditional landscapes while producing high-quality beef in an ethically sustainable and organic way. Animals roam freely throughout the year and graze on natural pastures and landscape fields, which guarantees the quality and taste of the meat. During the winter season, the animals are fed with fodder harvested from the farms' own organic fields. Notkola farm belongs to the association of producers of natural pasture meat (Luonnonlaidunlihan tuottajat ry), and its pastures were awarded the Landscape Work of the Year honourable mention in 2020. Notkola's farm shop is open on Fridays from 16:00 to 18:00 at Naukkarisenmäentie 31, 59410 Kirjavala, tel. +358504001149 / Jatta Paajanen and at other times by agreement.
