Puumala church is a natural and cultural site in Saimaa Geopark. The beautiful wooden church and the old churchyard dominate the views of the municipal center of Puumala. The church was inaugurated in 1832 and the last renovation took place in 2006-2007. The church can seat about 1,200 listeners and is one of the largest wooden churches in Finland.
