The Rokansaari is an esker island with its various formations. The area has kettle ponds and shore formations, e.g. beach banks and ridges that were created during the different lake stages of Lake Saimaa. Rokansaari island also has World War I trenches dug into the sand and a Stone Age dwelling site. The Rokansaari recreation area has quays, a summer café, rental cottages, two saunas and campfire sites.
